Kim Hyun Joong starts shooting for City Conquest in Japan

On July 10, Kim Hyun Joong started shooting for the new drama series City Conquest at Nikko Edomura, an entertainment culture park in Nikko.
City Conquest‘s original work is a popular cartoon series of the same title. Starring Kim Hyun Joong (Baek Mir), Jung Yumi (Lee Dan Bi), Nam Goong Min (Cha Ji Ryong), Kim Seung Woo (Baek Seung Hyun), Kim Hee Won (Choi Young Soo), and Park Hyo Jun (Park Gwang Ya), it talks about people who fight against illegality and evil of our society. Combining romance and action genres, its original work is a total of 270 series in six parts, published since 1996. A total of ten million copies were sold so far.
City Conquest is directed by director Yang Yoon Ho of Iris, Fighter in the Wind, and Holiday, written by writer Hwang Joo Ha of Spotlight and Lie to Me, and produced by producer Baek Jin Dong of Iris and ATHENA.
According to reports, the leading actor Kim went to an action school to exercise and controlled the size of his meal to reduce his body fat but increase his muscle before he started shooting this series, and he attracted a lot of attention by reducing 7% of his body fat.
A spokesperson for the series says, “Because it often rains in Nikko, we were worried if we had to postpone shooting. But as she started shooting, the weather became nice all of sudden. We felt that nature is also cheering us. Every cast and crew member is working so hard.”
City Conquest will be shot in all over the world, including U.S., Japan, China, Singapore, and Switzerland, to present spectacular scenes.
